Guided by the need for greater unity in our Community, Equality Arizona, Arizona Stonewall Democrats, Arizona Log Cabin Republicans, and the Human Rights Campaign have formed the Arizona LGBT Political Coalition.   A Steering Committee has been finalized and we have begun collaboration on a cooperative political agenda to further the rights of the LGBT community in Arizona.

Our overarching HEROIC GOAL is simple and all inclusive - Equal Means Equal in all civil law...NOW!

Only a HEROIC GOAL such as full equality can inspire us to the extraordinary action needed for success.  We must be united and work smart.  It will not be easy...but it can be done!

The goodwill within our Community is vast and deep and a majority of us have been waiting and hoping for someone to step forward and lead a coordinated charge.  That wait is over.  Take all of that angst you have over the many defeats we've suffered and join us as volunteers.  We believe we offer the full spectrum of volunteer opportunities and that you can plug in wherever you can and whenever you can.  You can make a difference.

Members of the Steering Committee will work together coordinating at the state and local level on issues important to the LGBT community and will assist federal, state and local fair minded candidates supportive of the community’s rights, utilizing each organization's resources and current volunteers.  In addition, we will recruit and work with new volunteers from around the state interested in supporting our goal.

The Coalition exists to provide our members and our allies a coordinated opportunity to plug into political action through volunteering in numbers that are significant.  We will attempt to eliminate duplication and provide total numbers of volunteers needed for success.  Combined we total more than 20,000 members, but that is just a fraction of the 400,000 LGBT folk in Arizona.  If we are going to win our battle for equality, we need to grow our volunteer base...starting with you!

This is all about people taking action and doing the work that needs to be done to win elections for candidates who support us and our issues.  It is not all about money...we recognize the terrible economic times we live in.  It seems trite to say it...but we need YOU!  It is all about a coordinated effort.  Please, join us!

This Web site will be a central clearing house for information about where you are needed.  Come here often or join one of the organizing groups to remain fully connected.  We will share our information with the major GLBT media outlets and will exclude no one or organization that agrees with our goals and wants to help with our agenda.
